Is Anyone Noticing Bridget Carleton?

Bridget Carleton needs to be in the conversation for the most improved in the W.

Bridget Carleton is quietly having a career season and deserves more attention from the media.

The Minnesota Lynx have had a great year. Currently occupying the two seed with five games left and winners of the Commissioner’s Cup.

Their leader Queen Phee (Napheesa Collier) would be the MVP if it wasn’t for A’ja Wilson, Coach Reeves has to be in the conversation for Coach of the Year, and Kayla McBride made the All-Star Team.

With all the team’s success, Bridget Carleton is quietly having a career year. Carleton has started a career-high 30 games which has resulted in her putting up career-highs in the following categories:

  • Minutes played -29.5 per game

  • Points scored- 9.3 per game

  • Rebounds- 3.9 per game

  • Steals- 1 per game

  • Three-pointers made- 2.2 per game

  • Free throw percentage- 82.4%

The fifth-year pro out of Canada has been the perfect compliment for McBride and Collier.

Carleton showed her ability to perform in big situations this year by scoring a team-high 23 points in the Commissioner’s Cup Final while making six three balls.

Carleton has been extremely consistent from beyond the arc, making at least one three-pointer in 28 of the 33 games she has appeared in.

Post-Olympic Break

Carleton represented her home country of Canada in Paris. She had a great Olympics averaging 13.3 points per game and was named Team Canada’s MVP.

She continued her hot play in the ten games after the Olympics. Carleton has scored in double digits six times, while knocking down at least one three-pointer in eight games, and made at least two in six games.

Carleton has to be in the conversation for WNBA Most Improved Player and if I had a vote she would be on my ballot.
